Questions & Answers

Question: My company received a random notice for one of my drivers whom we have laid off due to the economy, but we have plans for him to return if work picks up. What should we do?

Answer: You have a few different options in dealing with this. If this employee would be available to work tomorrow, then they should also be available to test, so you can send them to test. If this does not apply, employers have until the end of each testing quarter to complete the testing requirement for that quarter. You can hold onto the notice either until the employee returns to work or until the end of the testing quarter, whichever comes first. If the employee returns to work before the testing quarter ends, then send him to test and forward a copy of the random test notice (with a note stating the reason for the delay), a copy of the CCF, and a copy of the BAT form (if he was tested for breath alcohol). If the employee does not resume work before the testing quarter ends, he would need to be removed from the testing pool due to being unavailable for testing. You must send a 110 Form to add the driver back into the pool when they finally return to work. If the driver has been out of the testing pool for more than 30 days, you will need to send him for a pre-employment test before allowing him to drive.

Save Time and Money –
Go Green With AADT’s Online Access Tools

By Martha Muro & Diana Renteria

Green is in the air, it’s St. Patrick’s month, so why not celebrate by going green with your drug and alcohol testing program?

We have a new and exciting tool to offer all our clients: “Online Access.” This web-based tool is especially helpful for companies with multiple drivers, allowing you to view how many drivers are in your program, add or delete a driver, and view a current list of drivers. Online Access also lets you make changes to company information such as address, phone numbers, and even contacts, all online.

In the past you were limited to printing out paper forms; now you still have the same options you had before, plus much more. Since you no longer need to print copies of forms or documents, we believe this is a green product.

It is very easy to set up your Online Access. All you need to do is go to our website www.aadrugtesting.com, click on “Client & Broker Login,” follow the steps, and you’re on your way to a convenient and time-saving tool.
We are always happy to speak to our clients, and we are always available when you need us, but there are times that you just want to get to your information quickly on your own, and what better way than going to our website and using Online Access?

Ultimately, we believe the goal is to eliminate virtually all enrollment documents, even certificates and ID cards, because the information will all be managed online, watched over by an experienced and reliable staff and a designated account manager. Don’t wait any longer: sign up and go green.

Our Nationwide Collection Site List
is Available Online to All Our Clients!

In these increasingly difficult economic times, our collection sites change for various reasons. We have seen a growing number of businesses move out of state, reduce staff and business hours, or go out of business altogether. This is the reason why AADT has multiple sites in most areas or cities to help ensure that these types of situations do not burden our clients. To avoid unforeseen problems, we also encourage you to always contact the collection site first whenever possible.

At different times of the year, we experience high volumes of calls and you may have an extended hold time. To avoid this, you can now log on to www.aadrugtesting.com, register to access your account, and upon approval you will be able to view the Collection Site List at any time. This list is also available in Section 7 of your AADT Compliance Manual, although, since changes are constantly being made, the online version is usually more accurate. We suggest you familiarize yourself with our authorized sites in your area.

All testing supplies (CCF/COC’s and BAT) are held at each of our authorized testing sites. A Clinic Passport, Form 111, is necessary to begin the collection process. Make sure you have this first. Only authorized collection sites may be used for any pre-paid testing by our clients. This means that a donor should not have to pay any up-front fees for a scheduled random drug or alcohol test at any of the authorized collection sites if the proper steps are followed. If an unauthorized collection site is used, AADT will not be responsible for any related expenses.

AADT makes every reasonable effort to locate a collection site that is as close as possible to your principle place of operation, terminal, or your home, that offers both urine drug collections and breath alcohol testing. We also work to ensure that these sites have reasonable hours of operation and convenient parking. If your local authorized site is not well-suited to your needs and you know of another site you would like to use instead, contact us or complete and submit a Collection Site Request Form 102, and we will make every effort to accommodate your request as quickly as possible.

To locate a Drug/Breath Alcohol Testing Site in a post-accident situation after business hours, refer to the collection site list provided, or please call the 24-hour global number at (800) 832-3244 and follow the prompts. There are no additional fees associated with this service.

If you know of a collection site that is no longer available for testing or know of any changes, please contact us immediately so that we can remove them from our list or update it with the most current information.

AADT encourages all our clients to check the most recent collection site list updated continuously on our website.
