About AADT and its Services

American Alliance Drug Testing (AADT) is a Nationwide, non-profit organization with strong ties to the transportation industry specializing in providing employers convenient, cost effective support to facilitate drug and alcohol testing program. Our organization was established on November 22, 1995.

We offer consortium/third party administration (C/TPA) services for companies regulated by Federal and State government. We help transportation companies of all sizes to comply. Whether it is managing the testing program of an intrastate Owner-Operator motor carrier or managing the testing program of a large and diverse interstate DOT/FMCSA regulated Transportation Company, AADT is a committed partner. We will help you implement quality substance abuse prevention and testing program that will meet federal, state and industry standards.

AADT also provides support and services for Drug Free Workplace testing. If you are interested in a professional drug and alcohol testing service for your non-regulated employees, you will find AADT flexible enough to accommodate your specific needs; no client or program is too large or too small.

We are involved with various commercial transportation and construction associations to stay involved with all types of regulatory issues as well as retain the services of legal counsel and a legislative advocate with extensive knowledge of the industry. We have established a rapport with both State and Federal Enforcement Agencies to insure the intent and clarification of controlled substance testing regulations.

THE PROGRAM

Our program offers a complete drug and alcohol testing program including computer generated random selections, drug and alcohol collections, lab testing, Medical Review Officer (MRO) review and reporting, Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) referrals, Department of Transportation (DOT) required reports, training and materials. We provide a nationwide network of collection sites with 24 hr. post accident hotline. Typically an authorized collection site is provided within a 10 mile radius of your various locations; remote locations would be dependant upon availability.

To assist you in understanding the DOT requirements and our program, we will provide all pertinent regulations, sample policies, training, forms, educational and helpline information all accessibly in our comprehensive Company Compliance Manual. In addition, you will receive a certificate of enrollment, driver information handbook for the DOT regulated employees (Spanish versions available), and enrollment ID card for each employee.

We will also provide your organization with professional, knowledgeable customer service personnel to support you. Each account is assigned to their own individual customer service specialist that is familiar with your account and individual needs. In addition, anyone of our 7 staff personnel would be able to assist you with your account, as well as 3 customer service personnel that are bi-literate in Spanish. Our staff is efficient, professional and will protect your employee’s confidentiality. AADT's entire staff is educated and knowledgeable concerning DOT Regulations, PUC Resolution and Drug Free Workplace requirements for non-mandated employees.

We are an organization committed to continued education and training, therefore all of our staff is Certified Professional Specimen Collectors, and completed Reasonable Suspicion Training. We also have staff members that are Certified EBT (Evidential Breath Alcohol Technicians), and successfully completed DATIA’s Professional Collector Certification.

We are members of the Drug & Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA) and the Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association (SAPPA); these nationwide organizations provide direction in the implementation of drug and alcohol misuse prevention program procedures. DATIA and SAPAA resources are utilized to help ensure the integrity of AADT and our clients have full access to our resources, in-depth knowledge and experience.

SERVICES

AADT can provide the administration of Pre-employment, DOT Random, Post-accident, Reasonable Suspicion, Return-to-Duty and Follow-up Testing.

Random selections are made by state of the art program management software on a quarterly basis. If an employee is selected for random testing, the Designated Employer Representative (DER) of the location will receive a confidential notification identifying the employee by name and partial social security number, indicating the type of test to be performed (i.e. drug or drug & alcohol), and instructions for testing procedure.

For DOT regulated employees the annual random test selection rate will be a minimum of 50% for drugs and 10% for alcohol. Your annual fee includes specimen collections at any one of our authorized collection sites, testing of the specimen at our certified lab, result review and reporting by a qualified Medical Review Officer (MRO), results reporting by your choice preference to the designated program administrator (usually within 24 hrs. from the time of collection), semi-annual statistical reports supplied by the laboratory and MIS annual statistical reports. No additional fee is required for each initial random drug or alcohol testing regardless of the amount of selections.

For non-DOT employees the annual random test selection rate will be a minimum of 20% for drugs and 10% for alcohol. AADT also provides support and services for Drug Free Work Place testing.

All non random testing offered at our discounted rate and utilization of any of our 450+ authorized sites. You do not pay at the time of the collection nor will you be billed separately by the collection site.

The Federal Custody and Control Forms (CCF) and Testing Kits required for DOT testing are stored at each authorized collection site.

We provide sample company policies to aid in the development of a standard policy to help your organization address employees concerning your Drug and Alcohol Abuse/Misuse Prevention Program for both DOT regulated programs or non-regulated Drug Free programs.

AADT can provide the referral services of a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (a DOT requirement) should there be a positive drug test result or an alcohol violation rate greater than .04. This Employee Assistance Program (EAP) service includes evaluation, recommendation for treatment, and recommendation for follow-up testing and should the employer choose, a monitored follow up testing program and completion evaluation. This occurs only if the employee will return to safety-sensitive functions as defined by FHWA.

We provide training and certification for supervisors and managers on behavioral observation, signs and symptoms techniques, and the effects of drug and alcohol misuse employee education. Supervisor training is a DOT requirement and must be completed before employee reasonable suspicion testing can be initiated. Our two hour training is in the form of a video kit, which includes leader guides and a quiz. A certificate is provided upon completion.
